Media Done Responsibly (MDR) is a media arts education program that empowers communities to engender respect for the disenfranchised. Through its 3-pillar model of media literacy, production, and advocacy, MDR advances music, film, literary, visual and performing art that reflects the full humanity of diverse cultures.
MDR has the following goals:
1. Increase the number of teenagers who are aware that overexposure to destructive media images influences violent behavior, risky sexual behavior, negative body image and cultural/gender stereotypes;
2. Provide healthy media and lifestyle alternatives to disenfranchised communities;
3. Train youth to be critical thinkers, decision makers, conscious consumers and creators of media in the Digital Age; and
4. Develop leaders who advocate for media justice and who reflect their humanity through media outlets on a world stage.
Media Done Responsibly is a project of the Pasadena Arts Council’s EMERGE Fiscal Sponsorship Program. Pasadena Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donations to Media Done Responsibly are tax deductible to the full extent of the law under Federal ID 95-2540759.
